Early morning mist along the North Platte River is not common according to local experts. This image is one of a few similar images I have to offer. Each image is unique and has a different appeal to your individual eye. This one, as well as the others, are my favorites.

Thousands of Sandhill Cranes still on their overnight resting areas on the sandbars of the North Platte River in Nebraska.

Large numbers of these cranes will take off a the same time flying off to feed on the left over corn in area farming fields. By around 10am they will be gone from the river not to return until later in the evening.
