Sandhill cranes migrate from the south to the north stopping along the way to rest and feed. During migration, the cranes rest along the N. Platte River in Nebraska at night and feed by day in the nearby cornfields. Hundreds of thousands of Sandhill Cranes pass through a narrow area within a few weeks.
